Above all Suspicions

This is the very first short film I direct as a film student in 2018.

It’s a film noir with a very simple short story about a detective who enters an empty bar in the middle of the night looking for a criminal.

Through this film I confirmed that I could do this which feed even more the flame inside me that drove to tell stories and direct.

idiosyncrasies

This was my first time writing and directing a documental type of short film and also first time co-directing.

Its based on some quotes from the book “Fundamental Traces of The Portuguese Culture”, by Miguel Real, with a focus on the desertification of the rural interior lands of Portugal.

This short film ended up being nominated for best student documental short film by the Portuguese Film Academy in 2018.

Dry Ink


This is a fiction where I created the story and co-directed with the screenwriter.

It’s a period movie that takes place in Portugal in the early 60’s during the fascist dictatorship.

It revolves around a very tense father-daughter relationship, where they have very oposing political views.

I got inspiration from a similar true story that happen in that time period in Portugal.

This is the final project of my filmmaking degree.

Its a documentary about human nature, and the semless and also huge similarites between every human being.

I was heavely inspired by another documentary HUMAN a film by Yann Arthus-Bertrand. I recommend it very much, you can watch it on youtube here.

As Always

This project was my first experience as a diretor of photography and also my first project outside of college.

It was a very modest project, the budget was literally 0, everyone worked for free because we were just creating for the sake of creating, and also to help out the rapper, who’s our friend.
